Easter Inspirations: Quench the Thirst
SO here we are on our final #EasterInspirations post for this year! How fast has this month gone? However this does mean Easter has finally arrived, and I'm sure you're all ready for a weekend off work or school, to celebrate with your loved ones and just to have some well earned R&R.
Today's post is one I'm quite excited about as it's a little different to our standard baking posts, today I'll be sharing 5 Easter Inspired drinks, all non-alcoholic, to have with your Easter brunch or your main meal, whatever you fancy. By making these drinks non-alcoholic it means they are something you can have with the whole family.
They're all packed with spring flavours to get the most out of the delightful season we're in. Spring flavours are always fresh and light, as we move into those summery fruity tastes. You'll no doubt want to use these recipes over and over again throughout the year, and I wouldn't blame you!
Strawberry Grapefruit Smoothie
Start your morning with Martha Stewart's zingy strawberry and grapefruit smoothie, packed with antioxidents, and fruity goodness. This is a bit of a thinner smoothie than the Blackberry one below, mainly due to the grapefruit juice, however it's perfect for those early mornings spent in the garden while you wait for everyone else to wake!
Iced Hawaiian Coffee
To be honest, I've never really understood the obsession with iced coffees. I mean I'm not a big coffee drinker anyway, but iced coffee just seems wrong...the same with iced tea. It's supposed to be hot people!
But this recipe seems pretty yum, even though I have yet to try it. You never know, it may change my mind on iced coffee forever...Here in the UK you'll find it near on impossible to find Tully's Hawaiian Blend Coffee but you can substitute it for whatever coffee blend you like. the world is your oyster.
Blackberry Cherry Vanilla Smoothie
We all know berries are good for us. And Spring is the perfect time to get these into your diet, and the easiest way to do that? Via smoothie! I don't think you realise just how much fruity goodness you consume when you drink it, you consume way more you ever would than if you had to sit and eat all those berries in one go!
This recipe from Babble includes cherries and vanilla yoghurt too to give it a bit of extra zing and make it smooth and creamy. This would go down a treat on Easter morning to have with your baked breakfasts!
OJ
So in my house, we basically live off of Orange Juice. Like I wouldn't be surprised if it's got to the point now where our bodies are made our of oranges, we drink that much.
As good as shop bought OJ is, you can't beat homemade. It has 0 added sugar in for one!
This is effectively the easiest recipe you'll ever need. If you have oranges, you're good to go. All you need to do is squeeze out the juice, and drain it if you don't want bits. And voila! Simply keep on squeezing oranges until you have enough OJ to suit your needs!
Easter Eggnog
I know, I know, eggnog is for Christmas. But who says it only has to be for Christmas? Why should Santa get all the fun? Snappy Gourmet pairs chocolate and cinnamon with a classic eggnog to bring that Christmas tradition right through those winter months into Easter. You're going to love it!
And there we have it, 5 Easter drinks to round off a perfect Easter Weekend.
