Double Chocolate Chip Cookies
Everyone loves chocolate.
Even if you say you don't, you're lying.
Dark chocolate, milk chocolate, white chocolate, flavoured chocolate, sculptured chocolate, you name it, and someone in the world will love it.
Double chocolate chip cookies are a chocoholic's heaven. Gooey middles, two different types of chocolate chips, chocolate biscuits, and why not go one step further and have it with hot chocolate?
The first ever chocolate chip cookie was created in 1937 by Ruth Wakefield who ran the Toll House Inn. In fact the term Toll House is now even a legally generic word for chocolate chip cookie. These cookies are now the most popular across the globe and is the official cookie of Massachusetts. People love a good chocolate chip cookie.
This recipe for scrummy double chocolate chip cookies is one of those mysterious recipes where I cannot remember where I found it at all! I just wrote it down one day and forgot to leave a note saying where I found it! It's so annoying!
So here you have it! My favourite cookie recipe that solves any dilemma you're in.
Ingredients:
200g softened butter
300g dark brown sugar
2 tsp vanilla extract/essence
2 eggs
300g self raising flour
80g cocoa powder
1 tsp baking powder
100g white chocolate chips
100g milk chocolate chips
100g dark chocolate chips
Method:
Pre-heat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
Cream together the butter and sugar. Gradually add the eggs and vanilla and mix well.
Add the flour, cocoa, and baking powder and fold in the chocolate chips. Spoon a tbsp. of mixture onto a greased baking tray until all the mixture has been used up.
Bake in the oven for 12 minutes and leave to cool on the tray before transferring to either a tub or rack.
And there you have it. Now sit back with a glass of milk or a cup of tea and enjoy the chocolatey goodness that the world has to offer.
As always, let me know how you get on!
Charley!
